Hello Snodgrass Family!
Since my original post on the plan for the reunion there has been a change that I want to share.
The Jeanneret family has sold the farm, literally! We are so happy for them, but it does mean a bit of a change for the reunion. We will now have the family meet at the same location for both Friday evening and Saturday evening. We have rented the Southwood Clubhouse near 27th and Highway 2 in Lincoln for both days. We will have a pot luck on Friday evening and a catered meal on Saturday evening. The clubhouse has a small playground for us to utilize and we will have a few games and activities to keep the kids busy! More information on food and activities will be shared closer to the reunion date.
The other change I want to share is that we will not be able to utilize the Jeanneret property to park campers, but not to worry, there are several camp grounds near Lincoln. I will share information on a few areas to check out if you are interested in camping on the links page of the reunion website. Please know this is not an exhaustive list so if one of those options doesn't suit your needs please feel free to reach out to me and I can help you find additional options or you can google camping near Lincoln, Nebraska for additional options. Also listed on the links page will be a few hotels in the area. Lincoln is not a huge city so if you stay in a hotel on the opposite side of town it will likely only be a 15 minute drive to get to the other side of town. Since I live in Lincoln I have not stayed at any hotels in town so while I wanted to give options please research where you are considering staying and use your own judgement. Lincoln has dozens of hotels, I'm o nly linking to a few well recognized chain hotel options. In general you may want to avoid any hotels on Cornhusker Road, and to stay closest to the clubhouse you will want to be on the south side of town. If you live in or near Lincoln and are willing to host family at your house, feel free to post the invitation on the reunion Facebook page so others can contact you if they are interested.
Last, I have added links to a few fun things to do while you are in Lincoln. Some of these options are outside of Lincoln. Omaha is about an hour drive, Mahoney State park is about 30-40 minutes from Lincoln. Lincoln is surrounded by small towns that also have many activities, so feel free to research additional things to do while you are here!
Looking so forward to seeing everyone this summer!!
Emily

Campgrounds - Please be aware, all of these options require a Nebraska State Park sticker for entry. Stickers are available at daily or yearly rates. Some parks will have stickers for sale while others will not. You may want to purchase your sticker before arriving at the park if you are choosing one of the smaller parks. Here is a link to where you can purchase stickers anywhere in the state so you can choose a vendor that is on your route to the campground.
Branched Oak - north of Lincoln, about a 20 minute drive to the clubhouse. Large lake with camping, swimming, fishing, and large enough to speed boat on.
Wagon Train Lake - just south of Lincoln. Small lake with fishing, beach, and camping at reasonable prices.
Pawnee Lake - about a 20 minute drive west of Lincoln. Much larger lake with swimming, camping, fishing, and large enough for speed boating.
Mahoney State Park - about 30 minutes east of Lincoln. Large State Park with tons of activities. Camping, hiking, boating, water park, etc. We have had the reunion here in years past. While cabins can be difficult to reserve, camping sites and sometimes motel rooms at the lodge can be available.

Farther from the Clubhouse is the Cornhusker by Marriott in downtown Lincoln, about a 15 minute drive
Embassy Suites - also in downtown Lincoln, about a 15 minute drive
Things to do:
Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo - one of the top rated zoos in the United States. This is an hour drive from Lincoln but absolutely worth the trip! Features include an indoor tropical jungle, large aquarium, desert dome and much more, this is an option even if the weather isn't great because they have many indoor exhibits
Lincoln Children's Museum - great family activity if you have smaller kids. It is easy to spend several hours here with tons of activities
Star City Shores - water park with pools and slides. Only a mile or two from the clubhouse. Reasonable pricing and a good activity for small kids to adults.

Nebraska State Museum (also known as Morrill Hall) - museum with many exhibits including activities for young children. Reasonable prices.
Mahoney State Park - even if you don't stay here this is a great place to spend a day or a few hours. Options for activities include golf, paddle boats, hiking, water park and more!
